“Time management when taking on one task at a time until time allows for multiple time is never easy. We need to remember to enjoy our time too”-Sheri’s Dream Catcher
Recommended Dream Catcher Monthly Planner to help you with your time management scheduling conflicts.
Now a days, myself and most people are using our cell phones and computers to keep track of our schedules. However, I need to see things written down on paper so that I can handle my time management “conference call interrupted” theory appropriately. I believe that when you see it written down on paper, you get a better visual for what you need to do and what you would like to do . After I have written down and organized my time, my goals and myself, I am also able to analyze my time and goals from different angles.
You scheduled A Conference call when you thought you had the time!
Planning your day, week and month. No problem. I’m a calendar girl. But what happens when you plan the appointments of the day? Did you take into account one meeting starting earlier than expected or ran over the time you allocated? What about the unexpected that happens when you plan your time? I do this all the time and then get frustrated and huff and puff about it. Then I am mean to those I care about and I really don’t mean to be mean. I just didn’t manage my time in the best way.
Why am I being Interupted?
It never fails that on the one day I schedule an important call or appointment when I have time to do it, my call get’s interrupted! Specifically, my mind is telling me that the universe says today is the day to get interrupted multiple times. Why does this happen? I just don’t understand? Did I put this out into the universe and somehow it came back to me on this day at this time?
Specifically, I only needed 30 minutes for the appointment. How am I supposed to get uninterrupted time? Is everyone in my world on the same schedule? After I sit back and reflect on the events that just happened, I will say to myself “I should have managed my time better or not scheduled the call at that time”. In addition to having my call interrupted, I became frustrated because the computer, phone and technology were not working properly too. At this point, what would you do? For me, the only way I could handle this situation without blowing my top, was to reschedule the call for another date and time. Annoyed and frustrated that I couldn’t do what I needed to do. Overall, it was the right thing to do.

Take the Time to Plan your schedule
Usually, when my time management is out of control, I sit down to take a time out. I need to take a few deep breaths and work on my business plan or time management organization. As a result, this plan will help me navigate my next steps so I can properly manage my classes and conference calls. Once I start researching and writing down steps to take, I start getting organized with my goals. This always helps me to look at things in a much more calculated and educated manner. I always feel better once this is accomplished.

I can’t think of anything else when my mind is so focused on time. It’s like a cluster f*&^ and I have to tell myself to slow down. If I continue to think like a hamster running nonstop on a wheel, I’ll end up making mistakes. The ramification means that I will spend more time going back trying to find the mistakes and then repair them. As a result of wasting more time, I don’t get done what I needed to get done and I will feel frustrated with steam popping out the top of my head.
How often do we do this to ourselves? For instance, we would throw up our hands and say “that’s it, I’m done”. Do you stop everything and give up? Should you take a break to cool off? Would you start back up again? Slow and steady progress will result in better quality work depending on the project. Just my thought and what I’m going to do. Hope you are making the best of your time!
